In deal with CBS, YouTube will offer TV shows with ads

News: In a continuing search to develop a profitable business, YouTube has finally relented and decided to allow TV shows that carry ads before, during, and after the program. Only a few shows have been announced in the deal with CBS — “Dexter,” “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Star Trek.” (More)

Analysis: YouTube has felt growing pains, with the slowness in generating profits to justify Google’s $1.65 billion investment. The airing of full-length TV shows is a pretty big change for YouTube. We’ll see what happens.
