Movie studios sue RealNetworks for “RealDVD” copying of DVDs
October 1, 2008News: The movie studios have sued RealNetworks for its program RealDVD, which apparently enables consumers to make “backup” DVDs. (More from WSJ) The studios argue that the RealDVD violates the anti-circumvention provisions of the DMCA.
RealNetworks already has a suit in San Fran raising the same issue and it has asked the case to be heard there.
