Analysis: Is the question more stupid than the answer? I know, it’s hard to defend someone saying there are not enough maps in America. Maybe Miss South Carolina should have said: “I don’t think it’s really a problem because, nowadays, people use Google Earth or Mapquest.” That would’ve been hilarious.

UPDATE 2.0: I have a further update posted here. I don’t think Miss South Carolina needs any sympathy — she’ll come out quite well from this entire episode. She should hire an agent because she’s extremely marketable right now.

Aw come on… the girl obviously got flustered and bumbled over her words. I highly doubt she is as moronic as the answer sounds. I find it terribly mean-spirited that so many people are taking such joy in her humiliation. For god’s sake, this is Miss TEEN USA. In other words, she is just a kid.

An intelligent answer… not sure what that means but the reason: Quite simply, we do not care about anything beyond the East and West coast, so why waste our time learning about other Countries? (let alone where they are) Not knowing our state geography, well I’m stumped. Would you pass the test?
