Corporate chartering is done by states, not by a federal agency. A corporate charter generally costs $50 or slightly more. Example, most banks are incorporated in either Deleware or South Dakota.

The problem is that incorporation shields corporate boards of directors from criminal and civil penalties when activity under their control involves such misconduct. That is true in this case as it is in the case of, for example, lenders.

This enshrined idea of a license to steal needs to be eliminated so that the real and personal property and the civil status of the members of the boards of directors is at stake when there is criminal or civil misconduct. Stockholders, suppliers, customers and lower level employees should no longer have to pay for the actions of highly paid bonus provided bigwigs with no ethics.

The company (really, its board of directors) would be convicted in court of damaging the owner of the internet site in question since they have thrown a chill on ANY use of that site to protect a stolen "copyright". Under common sense, the owner of the internet site should be awarded the entire personal and real assets of the board of directors of the other company who themselves would be transformed into convicted felons under due process under law, as a result.
